Protecting Your Instrument from Strong RF Fields
It's tempting to power up your unit and start experimenting immediately—this is fine! However, ensure you’re not near strong RF fields before connecting an antenna to the SMA connector. Once the antenna is connected, the device starts receiving RF energy, even when powered off. While models like the 6G Combo, 3G Combo, and WSUB1G PLUS are robust, baseline models such as the WSUB1G are only protected against moderate RF signals, not extremely strong fields.

Using the Internal Battery
RF Explorer devices are battery-operated. Charge the battery fully before first use. Units are shipped with a half charge to preserve battery life during storage. A full charge and battery calibration are recommended before usage. Learn more in the user manual
Note: The device will automatically power on when plugged into a USB port. However, this does not indicate it is charging. To charge the battery, ensure the battery power switch is set to ON. Refer to this FAQ article for additional battery care tips.
