RF Explorer 6GHZ

RF Explorer with support up to 6.1GHz, in two different models, is now available for pre-order.

  • RF Explorer 6G: This is a standard main unit, one-port RF Explorer with 4850-6100MHz (4.85-6.1GHz) support, covering the most demanding 5.8GHz with excellent sensitivity. This model accepts an Expansion Module of your choice (such as RFEMWSUB3G or RFEM24G) for extra frequency coverage.
  • RF Explorer 6G Combo: This is the same as a RF Explorer 6G RFEMWSUB3G, being a two port RF Explorer with 15-2700MHz 4850-6100MHz coverage. This is the most advanced RF Explorer yet.

You can get more details on specifications at Models Map page

In order to help upgrade units from older models into 6GHz, we are offering a $35 discount till January 20th. Please visit this Q&A page here specific for 6G models that can help you decide which model is best for you, and how to efficiently upgrade a unit you already have (such as 3G Combo) into a 6GHz capable unit.

Pre-order period starts today at SeeedStudio and other distributors. Please check the distributor more convenient to you for details on expected shipping date. We will keep updating this news page with every update in the production process.

New product available: 6GHz attenuators

These high quality, 2 Watt attenuators have guaranteed linear response up to 6GHz (and are usable up to 9GHz with minimal linearity loss). We offer 30dB and 10dB attenuator at SeeedStudio and other distributors.

SMA attenuators are used to reduce the input power, and therefore enable RF Explorer to measure stronger signals. It is also used to protect the input SMA port of RF Explorer when unknown strong signals may be in the environment, so you can use this attenuator on demand. You can easily unplug the attenuator when measurement is for weak signals.

You can also daisy chain multiple attenuators to get additional values. For instance a 10 dB + 30dB attenuators connected in series will give you 40dB total attenuation.

RF Explorer firmware includes an “Offset DB” feature in the Attenuator Menu, you should specify (+030) dB in this setting when the attenuator is connected in order to get correct readings on screen.

RF Explorer Signal Generator (RFE6GEN)

We are happy to welcome a new member to the RF Explorer family.

The RF Explorer Signal Generator is a powerful, wideband fully programmable RF signal generator. It is the perfect companion for Spectrum Analyzer product line.

As a standalone unit, RFE6Gen can generate CW and Sweep signals by selecting embedded menu options. When connected to a PC, it can be fully programmed with the RF Explorer for Windows software tool. Furthermore, the unit can work as a powerful Tracking Generator when used with RF Explorer Spectrum Analyzer connected to the same PC, offering full Scalar Network Analyzer (SNA) capabilities. The SNA feature allows full characterization of filters, amplifiers and any 2-port RF device.

With excellent frequency and amplitude handling, it brings a truly affordable high performance, small form factor signal generator to the RF market. Download full datasheet specification here.

RF Explorer RackPRO by RFVenue

RF Venue's new 1-RU platform makes analyzing and monitoring spectrum easier, more practical, and more affordable.

We are happy to welcome a new member to the RF Explorer family: RF Explorer RackPRO developed by our Boston based wireless partner RF Venue.

RF Explorer RackPRO is a spectrum analysis and monitoring system that lets you see wireless microphone and IEM frequencies inside your venue.

How is the RackPRO different from other analyzers? Well, it's housed in an industry standard 19" form factor, for easy integration with existing live and installed cases, racks, and equipment closets.

It can be operated either from the onboard LCD screen and touchpad, or from a computer or laptop through a USB cable.
And the included Clear Waves software for Windows lets you visualize spectrum in detail, label and monitor transmitter frequencies, and instantly calculate sets of intermodulation free frequencies that can be exported to multiple formats, including those compatible with Shure Wireless Workbench and IAS.

Best of all that RF Venue is releasing a Mac OSX spectrum management application this June, so users of Mac computers will finally have access to the RF tools they need.
