RF Explorer devices can seamlessly connect with macOS computers after installing the necessary USB and supporting drivers. Follow the simple steps below to enable compatibility and start using RF Explorer on your Mac effortlessly.

These instructions have been tested on macOS versions 10.11 El Capitan through 10.14 Mojave and are expected to work on any version within this range.

Note: For macOS versions higher than 10.14, consider using our free Virtual Machine (www.rf-explorer.com/vm), a Windows dual boot, or Parallels.

Installing USB Drivers

RF Explorer requires USB drivers to communicate with macOS computers. If you have previously used software like Vantage (RFVenue), Touchstone Pro Mac (NutsAboutNets), or iRF Explorer Mac, these drivers may already be installed. Otherwise, follow these steps:

  1. Download the latest Silicon Labs USB drivers from this link: USB drivers.
If you’re unsure whether the drivers are installed, reinstalling them is safe and will not occupy additional disk space.
  2. Install the USB drivers by following the brief video tutorial below.
  3. After installation, allow the software to run by navigating to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, especially if using macOS Sierra or newer (e.g., Mojave).

Once the USB drivers are installed, you can use any software to connect with RF Explorer.

Installing Mono Libraries

Some RF Explorer software tools, such as the Firmware Upgrade and Preset Manager tools, require Mono libraries to be installed on your Mac. Follow these steps:

  1. Download Mono libraries from this link: Mono 4.8.0.
Ensure you install this specific version for compatibility. Reinstalling is safe and won’t consume additional disk space.
  2. Install Mono using the package installer, as demonstrated in the video tutorial below.
  3. After installation, allow the software to run by navigating to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, especially if using macOS Sierra or newer (e.g., Mojave).

Once installed, you’re ready to run advanced RF Explorer software on your macOS computer.
