RF Explorer extended span up to 600MHz

After a significant development to improve firmware algorithm, we can offer now a frequency extension of up to 600MHz on a single screen, both in the RF Explorer device as well as on the Windows application. In this way, users in need of a larger, wide area coverage can detect frequency activity of a significant wider spectrum area than before.

A sample screen with a 600MHz spectrum span looks in the RF Explorer for Windows just like this, tuned with a test signal at 1400MHz:

This release includes also a significant amplitude accuracy improvement for WSUB3G and 3G Combo model, as well as bug fixing. You can get it from the download area.

As usual, this new feature comes for free, all you need to do is upgrade the firmware of your unit, following these simple steps: Firmware upgrade.

RF Explorer direct interface to RF Guru

The guys from Stage Research, creators of RF Guru - a Windows application for wireless microphone frequency planning - is announcing a direct connection to RF Explorer and other devices, when using a new tool just launched: RF Scanner.

The new tool allows for continuous monitoring of the spectrum, as well as alerting when some signals goes beyond a programmable thresold. There is additional information on the user guide online.

All RF Explorer models can be connected to the RF Scanner software tool, including the latest 3G Combo model.

RF Explorer in Electronica 2012

If you are visiting the 25th edition of the Electronica Munich Fair, you have a great opportunity to review RF Explorer on site.

Microchip Technology has selected RF Explorer as a featured product this year for their exhibit, based on the internal high performance PIC24 microcontroller, RAM, FLASH and Lithium charge IC from Microchip you can find in every RF Explorer Spectrum Analyzer.

The Microchip booth reference is Hall A4 Booth 560.

Microsoft Windows 8 Support

A note about RF Explorer for Windows supportability in recently released Windows 8 version.

We tested and confirmed no issues when running in Windows 8, both 32 and 64 bits, as expected. We use Microsoft .NET 4.0 Client Profile platform as the foundation for RF Explorer for Windows Client tool, and that makes it compatible with all Windows versions since XP and certainly all recent versions as well.

If you run into any issues on Windows 8, please let us know and we will work with you to resolve it.
